Because I love him

It's his birthday. Here are some of my favorite things about Jon:
He lets me warm up my everlasting cold feet on his warm calves in bed.
He immediately starts picking up toys when he gets home from work.
He eats everything I cook.
He is frugal.
He lets me take naps.
He is really funny.
He cares about his work.
He still plays his guitar every now and then.
He still kisses Ethan on the lips everyday.
He is ready and willing to give blessings on demand.
He is more patient than I am.

The Truth

I want to thank Gill for reminding everyone of the day before Jon's birthday. It's a grand day, a day of ultimate anticipation for the next day. :)

This year Jon has requested lumberjack cake. I'm also surprising him with a night out on Saturday.... an entire night at Disneyland just the two of us. Since he NEVER checks this blog, I'm pretty sure my secret is safe here. :)

Our Sweet and Fun Blessings

While visiting my parents and siblings in California last month, the boys and I had a great time and caught some priceless moments on video. The first is Xander (15 months) greeting my older brother Josh when he got home. Xander started it all on his own. Each time he worked so hard to climb onto Josh's lap, and then climb back down. The second video is Trenton (3 years) playing with my parents puppy Bell.

21 months. Crazy smart kid! He can also recognize them, not just say them. :) So proud.

We're gonna be there soon!

Yup! This Evans clan is coming to the motherland (no, not Germany) the end of June for a couple of weeks. Mum and I were talking the other day and realized that Cole and Ethan's birthday are super close together in the beginning of July so we should have a combined party!!

I know, we never post on here anymore, but it's because we've upgraded to cooler diggs. jonandtaraevans.blogspot.com

Anyway, here's a short update on us. Jon is loving his job. He's in the last department rotation of his training; sales. He was dreading it, but so far he's really liked it. I think it's because he hasn't had to make any cold calls, he's mostly just familiarizing him self with software and accompanying people on sales calls. I know, I know, I'm picturing scenes from the Office as well.

I'm doing well, having occasional bouts of depression but that's expected when you're home with two under two, thousands of miles from family, and no car. I'm being stretched and molded though, so just you wait, I'm going to be a spiritual giant next time you see me. :)

Ethan's 19 months, he's obsessed with cars and trucks. He also loves going out with mom to the park and to the beach. He's talking up a storm, just in the last months he's gone from 30 or so words to well over 100. He will pretty much try to say every word you introduce to him, some stick and others don't.

Corryn is almost 5 months now! When she smiles she opens her mouth really wide, it's super cute. She also loves to talk, which is more like yelling. She will cling to your shirt when you hold her. She's so pretty. :)

brigham

So mum and I are still not settled on the name. He's a great puppy- very social, smart and fun to watch. Mum will put him on the front porch and just let him play with an old ice cream bucket. Lots of fun. Anyway- any suggestions for names?
