Universal Gillian Day

As I sit here poised on the cusp of Universal Gillian Day, I am able to reflect on who Gillian truly is and what she has come to mean in my meager existence. I say meager because truly we are all meager whilst next to a shining star such as she. Even the name Gillian has a magical siren call when ones ears are so blessed to be able to hear the lilting, melodic flow of those three syllables. Gillian, GILLIAN, Gillian, Gillian....I could go on forever! Tis truly music to my soul.
She is the one who brought us such bold sayings as "bag your face" and "neener" and who could forget the humorous "r r r" when she is being funny....which is so very often. It brings a tear to my eye to think of all the laughter that would not be in the world without our little red headed snippet.
Gillian has brazen ambitions, even marrying a Chalmers just so she could move up two letters in the alphabet (I hear they will soon be dropping the "Ch"). Her compassion for those less fortunate (like the time she told the ugly guy to bag his face...you know, to save him the shame of being ugly in public), her dedicated service to others (I can't think of anything but I'm SURE there's something) and kindness to animals (again, I'm drawing a blank) has proven her to be a lady worthy of Sainthood, up there with the likes of Mother Theresa, Ghandi and Sir Elton John.
So let us raise a glass (of juice of course) and all hail Gillian on her auspicious day. Happy 29th Gill!!!

Future conductor
While watching General Conference from home, Cole started copying the conductor during the hymn. He did it better off camera, I only caught a small bit on video.

Latest Adventures
It's fall! Ethan's first exposure to falling snow!Disgusting mushroom covered in mold/dirt on the pizza we ordered. I emailed a complaint but haven't heard back yet, HA!
HUGE spider Jon found in our bathroom. I can't wait to get out of this apartment!!!
Reasons why I love being a stay at home mom (currently).
1. I get to experience all the new things with Ethan first, before anyone else. HA!
2. I love breastfeeding in bed that turns into a mommy/baby morning nap.
3. I love the fact that Ethan can recognize me faster than anyone else and always greets me with a huge smile.
4. I love treating myself to cookies and milk after an afternoon of dealing with a gassy baby.
5. I love going out and being stopped by strangers to see my cute baby boy.
6. I love kneeling around Ethan's crib for family prayer.

The long road
I'm in Chicago at the CSCMP conference, and the building is HUGE. This is just one of the riddiculously long hallways that I have to walk up and down as they have me running errands. And I'm only partway down the hallway.
I recommended segways for the next conference....

Happy First Birthday Cole!!

What a big day little buddy! We, your extended family, have started a trust fund for you to pay for your future therapy sessions as we know what a trial it is for you to have Gillian as your mother. We love you Cole and just remember, Heavenly Father sent you to her because he knew just how strong you are!! Hang in there little guy!

Our 4th of July
Canada Day Jon wore all of the Canadian garb he could find to work and had me paint a big maple leaf on his face.
On the 4th, Provo had a huge festival starting early in the morning with hot air balloons. The picture taken was the view right outside our house, I didn't even have to zoom in! Later that morning we sat on the crowded curb for the parade. That night there was a big concert at BYU stadium where Jonas Brothers and SheDaisy performed. Jon and I live so close to the stadium that we had an awesome view of the fireworks show, which is I guess is one of the largest in the west.
By the way, I went to the doctor today and I'm 1 centimeter dilated and 40% effaced. In the next day or two, if I'm not already in labor I'm going to get my membranes stripped to get the process going. Woo hoo!

Trip to Boise
Here's a couple of pics to look at while we anxiously await the first photos of QUIN!!! :)
Jon and I recently took a trip up to Boise. My mom threw me a baby shower and handmade me some wonderful maternity pants. My dad took us boating and I painted a mural in his upstairs living room, the "Boise State Bronco Football Room", in just three days.
Jon has recently changed his hair style to an all-around-size 2-buzz. It looks great and Jon likes the fact that he doesn't have to style his hair. He has also become obsessed with Carl's Jr. Six Dollar Burgers.
Pregnancy Update: I'm 35 weeks along and Ethan is now in head down position and loves taking the opportunity to stretch his legs into my ribs in the middle of the night. My latest symptom is swelling. I've resorted to strictly flip flops and can't wear my wedding rings anymore.
